I'm back! Stamplorations Anything Goes Challenge

Hey y'all!  I know it's been a LONG time, but I have excuses.  We made another major move to another state and then COVID hit.  I am finally feeling more settled and have time to post.

The Stamplorations Anything Goes Challenge is found here:

   https://stamplorations.blogspot.com/p/stamplorations-anything-goes-challenge.html

I used the Stamplorations "Framed Dogwood" stamp to make these Easter cards.  I stamped them with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and then heat embossed them with black embossing powder.  I used CTMH watercolors to paint the images.  I then mounted the images to a rectangle die cut (CTMH)from cardstock in cardstock that matches each image.  I then die cut a frame from samed die set (CTMH) to frame the image.  I popped the black frame up with dimensional foam adhesive.  The "happy easter" greeting (CTMH) is stamped with black ink (CTMH) and popped up like the frame and the image.  And that is it.  I loved all the color combinations that are possible with this stamp.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter,

Janet

Heart 2 Heart Challenge Winner

Hey Y'all!
I am afraid it's been a long time again since my last post.  We've been a little busy with another major move out of state.  This time we moved from NC to our hometown of Hendersonnville, TN.  It's been a long time, but we are finally back home.  It is so nice to be near family.  We are finally getting things settled in here so I have some crafting time again.  YAY!

I just found out that I was chosen as a challenge winner over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog.  You can find it HERE.  I earned this badge for the win.

And this is the card I made for the Pet-pourri challenge back in April.

All supplies are from CTMH.  All are retired except the CTMH Spectrum Noir Triblend markers that I used to color in the pup.  Also the CTMH inks used were black and charcoal.

CAS(E) This Sketch #341: Happy Birthday

Holy Smokes!  It has really been THAT long since I posted here on my blog.  The summer sure got away from me.  And now it's Fall (even though it doesn't feel like it here in NC!)!

I needed a birthday card for my nephew and decided to use this sketch from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge blog.  Here is the sketch:

You can go HERE to visit their challenge.

I kept it simple since it's a masculine card.  Guys aren't too worried about a lot of detail on their cards (at least that's what I've seen).  I flipped the sketch upright.  All product used is from CTMH.  I used the new Hawthorn paper with matching cardstock and the new leaves die set.  I stamped the greeting with Charcoal which is also the mat color behind the plaid paper. I popped up the greeting with foam tape.  And that's about it. Clean and simple which is my go-to style right now.

The Paper Players #440 friends and Mojo Monday Sketch #515: Miss You

Hey, Friends!

I sure wish I could be a consistent blogger, but that just doesn't seem to happen.  I guess I keep this blog as a visual diary of some of my cards.  I do Pinterest, but not with my own cards.  I save ideas mostly on Pinterest.  Anyway, on with my card for today.  I am using two challenges to inspire me today for this card.  One is The Paper Players #440 "Life is better with friends..." theme.  You can find the challenge HERE.  The other challenge is a sketch challenge called (Mojo) Monday #515.  HERE is the link to that challenge.  The sketch looks like this:

To make my card I pretty much followed the sketch.  All of my supplies are from CTMH unless otherwise noted.  The paper is from the new "Sweet Girl" paper and the cardstock is from the Coordinating Cardstock pack that goes with it.  I used the Stitched Rectangle Frames dies to cut the green paper pieces.  I stamped the image with Intense Black ink from the April Stamp of the Month called "To My Bestie".  I colored the ladies and the flowers with my Shinhan markers.  I added a touch of Clear Shimmer Brush to the flowers for a little sparkle.  I used my Exacto knive to cut slits on each side of the lady's hand so I could slip the flowers through to look like she is holding them.  I put a little adhesive behind the flowers to keep them in place.  I layered all the pieces flat except for the sentiment banner (banner die is retired, too, sorry!) which is popped up with pop dots.   The "miss you" greeting stamped with Sapphire ink is from the January SOTM set called "Card Captions" which is sadly retired.  I am making this card for a dear friend that I miss SO much.  I added some Gold Glitter gems as accents.  And there you have it.

SOSS #126: B is for Books Challenge Take 1

Hey Y'all,
It's been a LONG time since I last posted.   Don't worry I've been making cards.  I just haven't been doing any contests lately.  It's a new year and I feel ready to take on a challenge again.  I just love the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge blog.  There's nothing like humor to help you get through the day or a tough season of life.  Their challenge this time is called "B is for Books".  Well, that is right up my alley since my daughter is an avid reader so I got lots of stamps related to books.  I have to admit that I don't read as much as I used to but that is because I make cards for my therapy.  You can go to their blog HERE.

My card is pretty straight forward with no fancy techniques or fussiness.  I just stamped the super girl image (CTMH Super Girl) and books (MFT I (heart) Books) with Black Momento ink.  I then colored them with Copics and CTMH Shinhan markers.  I die cut the super girl with the matching die.  I fussy cut the books.  I used paper from the CTMH "Superhero" collection.   The verse was printed and cut out.   I used the sketch#27 in the CTMH "Make It With Your Heart" Vol 1 pattern book.  And that's it.

CTMH "Hugs For You" Cardmaking Workshops Your Way

Hey Everyone,
Happy Thursday!  Today I am posting about the CTMH Cardmaking Workshops Your Way called "Hugs for You" (G1164).  This kit uses papers from the new CTMH paper collection called "Boutique" (X7235B).  Let me just tell you that I love this paper!!!  So pretty.

I made the first two cards just as pictured and instructed in the kit.  Here is a picture of them:

I then designed a third card using the CTMH "Make it from Your Heart" Vol. 4 (9044).  I love using patterns.  It helps to jumpstart my mojo!  Here is the picture of my card:

To make this card I used the Boutique paper(X7235B) and cut it to the specification used in the "Make It From Your Heart" Vol. 4.  I then stamped the floral image (D1815 Bunches of Love) in Charcoal on the White Daisy piece and then again on a scrap piece of  White Daisy.  I then added the stamps that colored the flowers in Peach first and then once again with Ballerina over the Peach.  To do the leaves I stamped second generation Glacier first and then over stamped with Glacier full strength.  I did the same coloring of Peach and Ballerina on the large flower on the scrap paper.  I then fussy cut the large flower from the scrap paper.  I attached the single large flower directly on top of the one stamped on the main White Daisy piece with pop dot adhesive.  I then added the little splash stamped images with second generation Charcoal.  It still needed a little something else so I added Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to the centers of the flowers plus added some Bitty Sparkles to the centers of the 2 main flowers.  I also added some Bitty Sparkles in the background.  I then stamped the greeting on scrap White Daisy and then fussy cut it out.  I mounted it as shown with Pop Dot adhesive.

And there you have it.  I plan to have a Workshop using these 3 cards at my house soon.
Thanks for stopping by.
